The only time you may get lag is when someone is working on the server. We have a brand new core and server - I rarely lag.
Maybe you need a better PC or a better connection. I am on a 6meg line with a decent pc

^^ im on a 20meg XD going up to 50 soon. lord knows why i need that much but yeah. i share my connection with 4 other computers in my house so when i do a speed test it only goes to 15000 :<
