No I don't think it was out of order. Back in the day Enhancement Shamans were hitting for 11k on a Single Windfury Crit, and 1-shotting Full S3 Paladins. The nerf was necessary.

However, I do believe a COMPLETE nerf was not intended. If it was, it was simply to get the issue out of the way so that it could be addressed at a more convenient time, because at the moment the developers have their hands completely full with trying to fix everything that 2.4 messed up with the server. Hopefully they'll get a little help from the emulation community which according to Syn is scrambling after the update.

Everything takes time when a new patch comes out, especially one as major as this one, what with 2.4.2 introducing the new Gladiator season, and the new instances, as well as a new island, that of course not including the new skill updates and item updates, and you soon see that it's a daunting task.

And yeah, I still take people down 1v1 with ease on my NS hunter, and I am working a Night Elf up slowly on Shadowburn, so like I said it's not that big a deal to me since Aimed shot is working alright, and 99% of the scrubs on NS you can kite around all week.

So again, if you're really concerned about the problem, submit a bug report, that way you know you said something, and that it's in the proper place for someone in a position to deal with it to do just that.
