Not knowing what to do !!!
Right i have been playing on the bloodscalp server, but as its down for now i was looking around at the other servers and i am likin the sound of the netherstorm server. But im a little lost ere as im on the bloodscalp server its a 1.12.1 or something like that, for me to get on to the other servers i have read i need to patch up to the latest patches from filefront:
which is cool an all, but do i have to download all those patches or can i just go straight for the last one ??? and can i switch back to the 1.12.1 server or do i have to have another install of game ?? any help guiding me would be gratefully received thx

The easiest way of doing it is to copy your World of Warcraft folder to another Hard Drive (or if you haven't got another HD, then create a new folder, and copy the World of Warcraft folder into there)
You will then need to patch 1.12 up to 2.0, so you can then install BC. Once BC is installed, run the launcher and it will auto update to 2.3, once done change the realmist.wtf to the netherstorm one and create a shortcut from your wow.exe and use that to launch the game. To go back to playing 1.12, create a shortcut from the wow.exe of your copied World of Warcraft Folder (Wether it's on another drive or contained in a new folder) and use that to launch 1.12 Last edited by LuKeY; 01-09-2008 at 03:44 PM. Reason: Forgot about BC Doh! |

Good luck! I finally got BC installed and working properly today after the 4th or 5th attempt.
First attempt using an official installation of the original WoW that installs off cds as version 2.0.0. Ran auto patch to 2.3, but failed to work (loads as original wow, not bc). Second attempt using a copy of my working 112 folder, patching up to 2.3. Failed. Third attempt using 112 folder and downloaded BC patches without using auto patcher. Failed. Finaly... copied my 112 folder to somewhere safe. Uninstalled WoW. Installed the 2.0.0 version from CDs. Downloaded the official BC trial installation and installed. Downloaded 2.x to 2.3 patch from a mirror site. Changed realmlist.wtf and started by using wow.exe (using launcher.exe attempted to patch beyond 2.3). And I'm in. It seems the trick is to actually "install" the full Burning Crusade download. Auto patching just doesn't enable BC. /slap Blizzard |
