A Reason to PvE (Suggestion)
As we all know, Netherstorm is a funserver, and everything is basically given to you.
That's great and everything, but then what is the ultimate goal? Just to have fun with classes you never got to play in retail? Or spend hours and hours PvPing and saying "LOL @ 4v1 IN GURU NOOBS"? I'm not much of a PvPer when it comes to Guru or various world PvP (though you will see me in 2v2 arenas when my partner's on). I'm a PvE kinda guy, I like the raids and stuff, minus the idiots. And I know there are others out there like me, that just want to experience new content, or do content they've done before on different characters, or see things they would never get a chance to see on a retail server. And to push this, we could limit the loot that vendors give out. My idea is that when the Sunwell loot becomes live on this server, it should be withheld from vendors and force people to PvE for loot. Though this doens't seem like the true funserver way, its a way to bring the server together and do something with each other and have fun, rather than hate one another because they can't beat them in a duel. This could promote more people having more friends, and overall larger guilds that actually have focus on PvE content, instead of just standing in Guru watching the speed and stat hackers kill each other. I think its a new idea that could appeal to a different crowd, and even keep people here once they join this server, rather than get bored of running back to their body in Guru, dieing and repeating the process until they get sick of it. Though i don't think the idea would fly well with the rest of the community, it's just a humble suggestion. |

The first thing that came to my mind when I thought "no use to PvP'ers" was weapons, but then I remembered that Gladiator weapons are basically on par with the top tier raid pieces, minus some PvE stats / bonus'.
Though I am a fan of mixing PvE and PvP gear if the stats are amazing, but then again, I'm not everyone. |

I like the idea, except for one thing - It's a private server. Therefore there will be phenomenal (sp?) bugs with such a scripted instance, and also, in my 1 1/3 year experience on private servers (especially pvp insta -- funservers) there are more people who would have no clue what to do in an instance. Such as how to keep/avoid aggro, how to splash heal, what buffs to give who (my donor retribution paladin, when I raid, is usually given blessing of light even though I don't often draw aggro) and so on.

PVE on Netherstorm is Compley pointless for the reason your way OP for it. With MgT being bugged, double bosses, the instance still was easy..so if u can kill 2 bosses w/ no prob, then there is no challenge to it.. if you wanna pve join SB IMO

yep
i agree, shadowburn is where you can pve if you so choose, netherstorm is a waste of time imo i prefer shadowburn over netherstorm, anyway, as previously stated pve would be WAY too easy on a funserver its just pointless really

Too few people who know WTF to do in a raid. "omg dude run to the centre! Now! Come on move it! why won't you run to the centre!?" They get minus 50 DKP.
On my healing characters I use hammer of sanctification main hand as it has 50 more +heal than the s4 and it also has a socket, so if one were to put in say, 11 heal and 2mp5, they'd get 61 more healing than the s4 mace and some mp5, which is great when you have to spam heals on everyone in guru hehe. |
