Need help with my hunter

Hey all,

My main character is a dwarf hunter on Shadowburn (Raikoh) and i have been having an issue with him for a while now which has even given a GM trouble.

I am unable to purchase skills for my pet from any pet trainers. when i talk with them, all the skills show up as unavailable. stating that I am not a high enough level to buy them even tho i am now level 51 and the skills start at level 12. Also, at first, i was able to buy the first set of resistance skills for my pet (i.e. nature resist. frist resist. etc.) and i trined them to him but when i log out they go back to not being trained to him and i need to re-trained them everytime i log on.

In a nut shell, is this issue a bug for the hunters? or is it something new? im considering giving up on my hunter but its still my fav class from the retail version so hopefully this issue can be fixed so my pet can kick some serious @#$

I believe the issue with the skills not staying trained to your pet is a database/core issue (problem with antrix) since i have a hunter myself (Dannyboy - 70 BE Hunter)...

as for not being able to learn the skills to actually teach your pet, have you tried summoning your pet when you go to the pet trainer? i think i had to do that for mine, but i also know that there are a lot of the rankings i'm still missing (i have the first few starting rankings, then all of a sudden i have the final rankings of the same stats training)...

don't know how much that may help, but there you go...

I have tried having my pet with me when i visited a pet trainer and still no go. i have not tried summoning my pet and then talking to a trainer, so that is my next test.

it is really becoming an issue as i get to higher levels because i out damage my pet and pull aggro plus my pet has troubles tanking when i need him to.

on a related note, i just started my hunter and i was wondering how you get Growl ranks 1 and 2. i know you need to get claw, bite, dash, etc. by taming pets that have these abilities but growl is supposed to come through the quest and then upgraded by the trainer but i didnt get growl from the quest and cant buy higher ranks without the lower ones...

i made a ticket in game and was told that i must tame a pet that already knows growl but i know for a fact that no pet can be tamed that will know growl. im very much like the OP in that i loved my hunter on retail...its the class i raided with and everything...and its really the only class i enjoy PvP with so i'd like to get him to 70 for some PvP action. any input on this would be awesome. thanks guys :-D
