An ancient Evil has reawakened
Karazhan's true master has returned.
The whole of Azeroth is under threat from his deadly curse.

Band together all brave souls and venture forth to glory or fate worse than death itself

History

Karazhan was built upon a nexus of ley lines in southern Deadwind Pass, but that was long before the area was known by that name, and when the area was once beautiful, lush and green when Azeroth was still in it's infancy.

The towers was constructed by a mysterious group named The Order of the Dragon. This groups ideals was to protect the fledgling citizens of Azeroth and bring the races together to form an utopian paradise.

For a while The Order worked endlessly towards this goal, and Karazhan became a school of learning and many arts both physical and magical where studied there. But as is the way of ideals over time they tend to be forgotten and that is what happened with the The Order of the Dragon. They began to focus on pursuing these arts and the power they held forgetting about the people they swore to protect.

Soon the Order became tainted by the powers they where unleashing within the walls of Karazhan and rather than share there secrets with fellow members, they started to hide what they knew and became covetous of the secrets others held. This caused the order to splinter in to smaller factions increasing the tension within Karazhan.

Finally one faction led by one of the founding members of the order called Vladislav Dracula made his move to take total control of Karazhan and all the secrets within. Moving by night he and his followers slaughtered every last living creature within the tower. Blood flowed through the halls and corridors seeping into every crack and and soaking into stones as if they where sponges. That was the night Karazhan took on a life of it's own.

As for Vladislav Dracula this act was his undoing he had unknowingly become one with Karazhan and the tower's hunger for blood was now his and that appetite was insatiable. So Vladislav turned of his followers one of which was his own son Vlad and drank their blood and in so doing cursing them to share the same hunger and madness as himself.

So for a time Vladislav and his followers where content to reside in Karazhan and venturing out at night to take anyone foolish enough to travel in darkness back to the tower. But Vladislav's hunger for blood was matched by his son Vlad's cruelty.

One day Vlad decreed that no one should go hungry and invited everyone in surrounding areas to a banquet in the great hall in Karazhan. Once he felt his "guests" had been well fed, not to mention drunk and complacent, Vlad made his appearance, asking them how they would enjoy never having to feel the pain of hunger ever again, or if they wished to never have to worry about anything ever again, to be without a care in the world. Of course, their reply was enthusiastic, so he obliged, and locked up the hall, then he set about impaling every last man woman and child on wooden stakes. No one escaped and from that day on he was known as Vlad the Impaler.

Vladislav Dracula's hunger for blood and power had no limits he now wanted the whole of Azeroth and set about doing experiments to use the tower and the lay lines beneath, to transform himself to the status of a god. Thinking he had found a way of doing this Vladislav, Vlad and his 3 concubines Verona, Marishka & Aleera performed a ritual to open a portal that would take them to a realm of a gods so that Vladislav could challenge a Titan and take its place in the pantheon.

The ritual worked and when they stepped through the portal it was then that Vladislav realized his mistake, Karazhan's power was only linked to Azeroth, and he could not call upon it to aid his fight in that realm. The titan fell upon Vladislav and his 4 accomplices punishing them and imprisoning them below Azeroth in the prison of the old gods and where the fury of the banished gods would be vented upon Vladislav for eternity.

Without Vladislav's presence Karazhan's power waned and the area around it waned also and became the corrupted place it is today, The tower has known many owners since but none as evil as it's true master.

Present

Over the last few years many a foolish adventurer have wondered in to Karazhan and the blood of many has fallen on it's stones it is this blood that has released the towers original master.

Vladislav Dracula's power is returning as he hides beneath the tower and his son and concubines have joined him. His agents the Black Rider have been sighted and believed to be looking for the Scythe of Elune which has the power to weaken time and space and to draw the worgen into the world of Azeroth.

Vladislav and The Order of the Dragon must be destroyed, seek him out beneath Karazhan it is believed that there is a tunnel behind the tower that will take you to his lair. But beware his minions for their bite will curse you to the same fate as them "to hunger for blood and to serve Vladislav and Karazhan"

The members of the Order are know to carry the books that hold the Secrets of Karazhan, they will not part with them easily as they are as important to them as the blood they crave, but there is a small chance they may drop a book when defeated in battle. Bring me back these books so I can find a way to destroy Vladislav Dracula forever and your reward will be the stuff of legends.

OK now for some information

Firstly I want to thank Darkelf & Putra for all their help with the coding side of things. Cheers guys I couldn't have made this without your help

This is not like a normal instance you can't re-enter to re-spawn all the mobs, you will have to wait a few hours for them to re-spawn.

The only way to enter is through a portal or by appearing to a player that is already inside.

This instance is a work in progress so I hope to update it and tweak it as I see fit but any changes will be to improve your raiding experience

Lastly I hope you all find as much enjoyment from this as I had making it.
