Welcome to WaMMO, former EV/LI users!
We're very happy to welcome EV/LI into our community. WaMMO was created by Arsenik, Adler and myself a while back when it was apparent that prgress had ceased at EV/LI. Adler and I were both Admins on the TBC server at the time. We formed a nucleus of responsible, older GMs (Mozzar, Lukey, Nightvenom, Draconian, Reddog, Fiona) . We felt we could raise the standard of a private server experience. Arsenik and I are both professional Internet engineers and very savvy in todays' technologies and the implementation of those technologies. It meshed into a community that started with the nucleus, and has quickly expanded into the well rounded large community you see today.
We run the Ascent core on a fully dedicated Linux box, with dual core processing and a 1500mBit line. Ascent is the only process on the box. We control access to the box and database, and those permissions are limited to Arsenik and myself. Security is a priority. We have auto cron jobs to restart the server daily @ 12/6/12/6 CST (GMT -6) and also back up the databases twice a day, so there is almost zero risk of any character loss. Our forums are fun and active; and moderated daily to reduce the chances of inflammatory posts or drama.
We are looking forward to having all current users, future users and returning users, enjoy their experience here and know that WaMMO has been, and will continue to improve, strive and become the marquee name in the private server community. With over 90 users online at peak, and an hourly average of 50+, our Mid Rate TBC server is outstanding. Finding raids into BT and Hyjal is not an issue. Our developing PVP funserver has seen a recent increase in numbers and now has a staff dedicated to improving and testing it. Our 1.12 server is growing quickly. Those of you who miss the old days of AQ runs and Naxx bosses on a linux compiled Mangos core should definitely check it out.
Once again; we mourn the demise of Eternal Vendetta/Live Illusions,; but we realize this is an opportunity to amalgamate to fantastic communities and continue to provide the leading edge in service, support and fun!
