Donations

So I was looking around, seeing how you guys accept donations for stuff.

I was curious, are donations mandatory to get this stuff?

Or are the donations just a way to "instantly" get the stuff, rather than spending lots of time on the server to acquire lots of money with which to purchase the epic mounts or items.

Wouldn't it make everyone happier if there was kind of a dual system on this?

Something like -
if you donate, you get this item immediately.
or you can play on the server for a long while to earn the item, say it costs alot of gold and a required level and a required amount of time on the server.

So while the donations can get you stuff here and now, with hard work and a lot of time, you could get the same items.

Some people would still donate, who wouldn't if they had the cash for it? But it gives an opportunity, however time consuming, for those of us that can't afford donations, to get some of the donation stuff.

An example would be:

Donate x -> Epic Mount : takes a couple RL days
Work hard, gain levels, save gold -> Epic Mount : takes several months

You can get an Epic Flying Mount.

5000 gold for Training then 200 gold I think for the mount.

Granted Farming might take you a while. But it is do able.

If I had the money I'd probably donate.

But cmon, you aren't getting donations from people without the cash for it to start with.

I'd be content with this stuff, if I had to sit around and play for months to earn the stuff that I could then buy with IG gold, vs spending real money and getting it instantly.

Those with money would still probably donate, why wouldn't they? Even I'd donate if it was on this system and I could afford it. But the option, however slim, of getting this stuff without real money, that would please a ton of people and make the server attract more people.

Sorry but the donation stuff just makes it feel like it's Maple Story or some of those other games where anything nice requires real cash.

Chin is correct, Epc mounts are obtaniable in game as is T6. Certian items like the custom sets, the WaMMO Tabard/shirt are avliable by donation only. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Not to sound like a crazy person here. But some of the quests you littlerally have to click twice and get gold and XP. I don't have an epic flying mount yet. I just bought my normally one two days ago.

After Tanking Sunwell the last few nights I have almost 2,000 gold in my pocket again. And that is after about 100 gold in repair bills.

Playing on a private server yes people will get things you don't think they deserve because they can toss some play money around. But that does not mean they can play. I have seen a green rouge take a warrior out in T6. It is all about how you spend your time and money.

My suggestion is just sit back and enjoy the ride. Don't stress it will come.

Heck in Retail, saving the first 5,000 gold took a really long time. The next 5,000 gold. Not so much.

I get what hes trying to say, hes saying instead of having everyone donate for "Donation gear" hes saying that there should be a way for ppl who cant donate to get these items and he brought up the valid idea of a length of time, lvl req, and Cost on these items so everyone can enjoy "OP gear" ().
